The Gardening Industry is an especially seasonal and physical business.
Highland Nursery does approximately 75% of our business in the months between April and June; over half of that is on the weekends. That is why we expect all employees to work every Saturday and Sunday in May in addition to scheduled workdays. It is very important that this job can be given high priority during these few crucial months. Schedules are made 2-4 weeks in advance; therefore, it is important to make any requested days off as soon as possible and before the schedule has been made.
All employees are required to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
All employees are required to be able to lift at least 50 pounds above the waist repeatedly throughout the day. This is a very physical, fast-paced job and you will need to be able to handle the demands.
